Baltimore
12/04/2008
This painting is a still life made on the fire escape of the apartment I lived in during my junior year of college. The only album I listened to while painting this was Radiohead’s Hail To The Thief. The medium is oil paint.
This is a drawing from a photo I took at the Baltimore Cemetery, one of many old historic cemeteries in Baltimore. My roomate Dan wanted to make a mockumentary for his video class about ghost hunting in Baltimore, so I went along to take photos. The headstone in the foreground is of a 3-year girl that died in 1893. It looked pretty haunting do to the weathering of the stone.
